Kristina's Story
Kristina is a daughter of the "Peach State" raised in Augusta, GA. Kristina grew up in a family where food was at the center of every special memory, from large Thanksgiving dinners to small family movie nights with homemade snacks. Kristina's favorite room in the house is the kitchen because it's where she has the most fun planning and preparing nutritious and delicious food for her loved ones. Kristina is skilled in traditional Southern American cuisine, or "Soul Food" along with Indian, Southeast Asian, and Mexican cuisines. Kristina has learned how to make small changes to ingredients or portion sizes in order to continue enjoying the foods she grew up with and loves.
Besides Kristina's love of food and cooking, she finds joy in helping others improve their health through nutrition. Kristina's empathy for others comes from navigating her way through her own health issues. Kristina has struggled with weight since preschool. In her early 20s, Kristina was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome. Kristina learned to manage symptoms such as irregular cycles, high cholesterol, and infertility through nutrition and other health interventions. Kristina then had to restructure her diet again when she was diagnosed with several food allergies. Kristina became a mental health advocate after experiencing years of mental and emotional ups and downs. Along with therapy, Kristina incorporates nutrition and strength training to manage her emotional well-being. Kristina understands that life is steadily throwing curveballs and is here to help you with yours.
